I don’t need to process payments because everything is free. I just want people to register before they can view the website and comment. I also want a plugin for newsletter. I’m really sorry to bother you with this btw, I’m just new to those kinds of plugins

@chiinarr try S2Member plugin or Theme My Login to see if it does what you need. If you don’t need to process payments, then you don’t need a member plugin, just a better way to manage the registration process. If you need it for a newsletter, try ALO Newsletter which effectively registers people for the site too.

No its the default one. I have no idea why I dont have it. im running a official dutch fanclub for a singer and it has to be online by next week. I really wanted the ”register” and login part. But would that even be possible if I dont have that Custom fields option.

  4. peteratomic says:

@chiinarr Are you running your own installation of WordPress? Because Custom Fields is very definitely available under Screen Options found when editing posts and pages.

  5. chiinarr says:

Nope. There even isnt a custom fields option. It just says: Author, Comments, Date.

  7. peteratomic says:

@chiinarr try clicking on the Screen Options button up top… you most likely have the Custom Fields option turned off.

whoops! sorry about that. I looked all over the WP Members site and couldn’t find it. I think I must have unintentionally cut that out of the video. Chances are it can be found in the WP Forums because I certainly didn’t come up with that on my own. Try going to WP Members plugin page in the WP plugin directory, then click on forum posts. Has to be in there.

@SiteSparker He was talking about the snippet you pasted into comments.php

  12. SiteSparker says:

@daviesladies No code exactly… it’s found under the Discussion settings. “Users must be registered and logged in to comment ” should be checked. If that IS checked, then there might be some additional setting in the members plugin. In that case, I suggest going to the WP Members plugin page then click on the Forum posts link on the right sidebar. Chances are someone else has had the same issue.

what was the code you used for preventing commenting for unregistered users? if you could help i would really appreciate it.
